Travel:

The Bristol Open will be held in the Arts building on Woodland Road. A map of the university precinct can be found here. There will be Bristol debaters waiting on both sides of Woodland Road to guide you towards an entrance. Please try to enter via 3-5 Woodland Road (number 66 on the map).

If you are traveling by train, you should buy a ticket to Bristol Temple Meads (not Bristol Parkway). From the station, a taxi to the university should cost around £8. Alternatively the number 8 or 9 buses run close to the venue (you can ask the driver where to get off for Woodland Road). Getting a bus to the university should take around 40 minutes in total. Details can be found below.

If you are traveling by car, there is limited parking available on Woodland Road and those branching off it (Tyndall’s Park Road, Priory Road, Elmdale Road, etc). Alternatively, there is a car park at Clifton Down Shopping Centre (though it will cost you). This is located off to the left of Whiteladies Road before you get to Cotham Hill if coming from the centre of Bristol (just north of where the map ends). It is about a ten minute walk from here up Cotham Hill to Woodland Road.

Bus Timetables:

A link to the timetables for buses in Bristol can be found here.

Taxis:

If you are returning to the train station by taxi, it would be advisable to book your taxi in advance, as the taxi firms may become quite busy in the evening. Here are the numbers for two of the most reliable taxi firms in the area:
